Why a survey
A fixed price that holds on moving day.
Phone quotes are guesses, and guesses get corrected on the day. Our surveyor sees your stairs, your loft and where the lorry parks, then writes down the vehicle, the crew and the hours. That sets the price, and the price goes in your booking.

Survey
A video call or a visit within 48 hours. We list every room, the stairs and the parking, then email a fixed price.
Packing day
For packed moves, the crew arrives the day before with boxes, paper and blankets and labels each box by room.
Moving day
Furniture blanketed and strapped, heavy items low and forward, fragile boxes last on. The supervisor keeps the inventory.
Set down
Every box goes into the room on its label, beds rebuilt, and we walk round with you before we leave.

What happens at a removals survey, and why we insist on one
Twenty minutes on a video call is the difference between a guess and a fixed price. Here is exactly what the surveyor looks at.

Before
- Do I need a survey, or can you quote over the phone?
- We quote every home move after a survey, either a 20-minute video call or a visit. It is free, and it is why the price does not change on the day. Man-and-van jobs and single items we can price over the phone.
- How far ahead should I book?
- Four to six weeks for a weekday move, eight for a Friday or the end of a month, which is when most completions land. We do take short-notice moves when the calendar has a gap; ring the office.
- What if my completion date moves?
- Change the date for free if you tell us at least 7 days before. Inside a week we will still try; if we cannot move you, we can hold your load in storage until you have keys.
Moving day
- What time will you arrive?
- Between 7:30 and 8:00 for a first-job move. The supervisor texts the evening before with the crew’s names and rings when the van is 30 minutes out.
- Will you take furniture apart?
- Yes. Beds, wardrobes and tables are taken apart and rebuilt at the other end at no extra cost. Fixings go in a labelled bag taped to the piece they came from.
- What are you insured for?
- Goods in transit up to £50,000 per load and £5 million public liability. Items we pack are covered in full; items you pack are covered for loss and for visible external damage.
After
- Can you unpack for us?
- Full-packing moves include unpacking the kitchen on the day. Anything else can be unpacked for £34 per mover per hour, booked the day or any time in the week after.
- Something got damaged. What happens?
- Tell us within 7 days. The supervisor comes back within 48 hours to see it; small damage is repaired by our furniture restorer, anything else is settled against the insurance. Our claim rate last year was 0.6% of moves.
- Do you take the boxes away?
- Yes, flattened boxes and paper are collected free within four weeks. Most go out on the next self-pack delivery.
